A Taste of His Own Medicine

When Kaden was the girls' age we used to call him Mr. Distructo...because he would destroy anything that Karter was doing.  Kaden is getting his payback now... x2!!  Kassie isn't so bad, but still gets in his way, but we call Kelsey the Kelsey Monster.  Most of the time she walks all over anything he is doing.  This morning I was in the kitchen when I heard Kado fussing at Kels for being in his way.  I don't think he likes the taste of his own medicine!!

Our Peacock Princess Party

Last week was a big birthday week for our family...as in, half of our family of 6 had their birthday's last week!!  Our precious little ladies turned one!!!  It is still taking me a bit of time to adjust to the fact that they are one, but it happened regardless if I wanted it to or not.

Kim's beautiful peacocks inspired the girls Halloween costumes, which in turn inspired our birthday party theme.

Peacock tu-tu's were made!

Kim & Terry gave the girls musical cards, and we have been going crazy enjoyed singing the songs!  Kassie's appropriately sings "Happy Birthday Princess".  Very fitting for our little princess!

Miss on the go Kels has a dance tune in hers!

Two beautiful peacocks!

Kelsey took the stack of presents as a challenge to her climbing ability!

Of course she made it to the top!

This picture won't stay where I put it...but it is cute of the "big" kids eating outside!

The opening of presents was a little crazy...with a few too many helpers!

Silly Daddy!

Our family!!  My heart is so happy when I see us all together!

Cake time!

The eating of the cake pretty much sums up their personalities...

Kassie...the princess wants to be fed!

Kelsey...the go-getter will dive right in!

"You want me to touch it?!"

Proud big brother!

At the party Miss Kassie had a huge milestone for her...she pulled up to a standing position and climbed on top of something...both for the first time!!

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate our girls' 1st birthday!!  We are so blessed :)

Happy Birthday

Today my hunk of a husband turns 31!!  I love him for many, many reasons, but I fall in love with him more everyday when I see him be the daddy he is to our kids...we are so blessed to have him!

Happy Birthday my love!!

360 Days!

If talking (or reading!) about breastfeeding or pumping makes you uneasy consider this your warning, this post is completely dedicated to such topics!

For 360 days, this little beauty has been my best friend...we watched many shows together, saw a lot of late nights together, went on a lot of car rides together (never while I was driving, btw), but most of all, supplied our beautiful twins with food for 360 days together!  We (Kristoffer and I) are not sad to say goodbye, it is quite freeing to pack it up, but it is the final chapter of the newborn stage in our house.  A few weeks ago we passed along most of our baby items, but passing along this one last item makes it real...our family is through the newborn phase!

We can reclaim our dish-drainer...

...and our counter top!!  The girls will be one in just a few days, and are much to active to sit still for a bottle any longer.

I was unable to nurse Karter, so I pumped for 11 months...nursed Kaden for 11 months...and am proud to say I pumped for nearly 12 months for TWO babies at one time!  Many (including our ped) doubted that it could be done, but thankfully I was blessed with a great supply and was able to do it.  So long to my Medela pump and bottles...and hello to sippy cups everywhere!
